Hello, we are happy to tell you that the We Are One project that was created by our European Solidarity Corps volunteer Gizem Karaköse as her personal project is now finished. The project focused on 3 main minorities in Lithuania. Students from Siauliai Didzdvaris gymnasium Jonas Žemaitis, Marija Zubareva, Viltė Aleksandravičiūtė, Ieva Kontrimaitė and Gerda Rumšaitė and volunteers from Georgia – Shota Gelashvili and Armenia – Ruzanna Baghdasaryan participated to project and discussed the problems, right that LGBTQIA+ community, refugees/immigrants and people with disabilities have in Lithuania. The project processed meetings in Siauliai Didzdvaris gymnasium, online meetings with Mr Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius, Prof. Michał Głuszkowski, Youth Programme Coordinator at Lietuvos Raudonasis Kryzius / Lithuanian Red Cross Vilte Novikovaite, European Solidarity Corps Volunteer Flavia Dello Lacono and Coordinator Viktoria from Caritas who helped us understand insights of the minority problems. We also interviewed Ukrainian refugees and a teacher who works with people with special needs. After 4 months of hard work and meetings, we are finally able to share the results with you.
